25% rise out of poverty
Our Vision
100,000 fewer people experiencing poverty by 2025.
100K fewer experiencing poverty

A better Philadelphia for us all.

We can’t afford to be the poorest big city in America. And yet, we are. 23% of us live on less than $26,000 a year for a family of four, and 11% live on less than half that. That’s over 350,000 people living every day in financial crisis. Over 350,000 people forced to choose between paying rent or buying food or paying a medical bill or having reliable transportation to get to work.

It doesn’t have to be this way.  The Promise: The Philadelphia Poverty Action Fund is a multi-year initiative to raise funds and invest in our city so we can face poverty head on. Our goal is to work alongside 100,000 individuals to increase their income and build sustainable careers.
